Step 1: Center and Leave 0.5 cm
Put the SLEEVE over the top of the hockey stick. Center the SLEEVE in the middle of the stick and hold it like this until step 3. It is important to leave around 0.5cm overhang over the top of the stick before applying heat to the SLEEVE.
Step 2: Start from the Top
You must start from the top end of the hockey stick, remembering to hold the SLEEVE until the top has shrunken and is firmly fixed in place. Press the top end of the stick on a flat surface to be sure the SLEEVE is fixed correctly.
Step 3: Slowly rotate
When applying the SLEEVE, slowly rotate the stick to make sure that it shrinks on all sides equally. Remember to work from the top downward. Watch out for your hands, the SLEEVE heats up a bit!
Step 4: Continue
Continue applying heat until the SLEEVE is fully shrunken on all sides. The SLEEVE starts shrinking from 55°C, but don’t be shy when heating the SLEEVE as the material can withstand temperatures up to 125°C.
Step 5: You are Ready!
Once you've finished shrinking the SLEEVE grip to your stick, let it cool down for a few minutes, then apply your RIBBON stick and you are ready to hit the field.
Optional: Use hot water!
The SLEEVE shrinks when heated to between 55°C and 125°C, so you can also use boiling water from your kettle to install the SLEEVE. Just follow steps 1 to 5, but use hot water instead of a heat gun. The results will be the same!
